Terms of Service
1. Who we are
These terms are published by CO.FACTORY (trading as Co.Factory), EURL with share capital of 1 000 €, registered with the RCS Paris under number 909764615, with its registered office at 168 rue de Grenelle, 75007 Paris, France ("Co.Factory", "we", "us"). Full details are in the legal notice.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to this website and to the apps we publish (the "Services"), whether they run in your browser or are distributed through an app store. By using a Service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Services.
Consulting, fractional CTO and engineering engagements are governed by the written agreement signed with each client. Where that agreement and these terms differ, the agreement prevails. Nothing on this website is an offer to contract.
3. Using the Services
You may use the Services for your own lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to infringe the rights of others
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Services
- use automated means to extract content or data at scale, except as the law allows
- use the Services to transmit malicious code or unlawful content
We may suspend access to a Service, or remove content, when it is used in breach of these terms.
4. Intellectual property
The Services, their software, design, text and brand are owned by Co.Factory or its licensors and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services in line with these terms. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, reverse engineer or decompile them, except where the law expressly allows it.
Content you create with an app remains yours.
5. App-specific terms
Some apps have rules of their own. They complement these terms, and apply only to that app.
Word Search
Word Search identifies players by a generated three-word passphrase instead of a traditional account. Anyone who knows a passphrase can access the profile behind it, so treat yours like a password. We cannot recover a lost passphrase. Word lists and themes are generated with the help of AI and may occasionally contain mistakes; please report anything inappropriate.
Focus Reader
Focus Reader runs in your browser and keeps your text and settings on your device. It has no accounts. You are responsible for having the right to read the texts you paste into it.
Apps distributed through an app store
When we distribute an app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and purchases are handled by Apple under its own terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support; we are.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Services available and working well, but we do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or retire a Service. When a change materially affects something you paid for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
7. Liability
The Services are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of data, profit or opportunity, arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including the statutory rights of consumers.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data across the website and our apps.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Please contact us first: most problems are solved by email. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. When a change is material, we will make it visible on this website before it takes effect.
